Harjot Ladher
Personal Experience
Harjot is a summer law student at Rosen Tax Law & Associates and a second-year Dual J.D. candidate at the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy. Her journey to tax law has been shaped by years of experience in public service and a deep curiosity about how legal systems impact individuals and communities.
Before entering law school, Harjot spent nearly four years at the Canada Revenue Agency, where she developed a strong understanding of tax administration and dispute resolution from the inside out. That experience sparked her interest in tax law and equipped her with practical insight into how government decisions affect every day Canadians. She recently built on that foundation by clerking for the Michigan Department of Attorney General, where she worked on litigation files within the Children and Youth Services Division—an experience that sharpened her research and advocacy skills in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Harjot completed her undergraduate studies in Sociology at the University of British Columbia, where she developed her ability to think critically about systems, equity, and the law. Now, as a student with cross-border perspective, she brings both a broad perspective and a practical mindset to her work.
Originally from Surrey, BC, Harjot is spending her summer in Toronto—and looking forward to eating her way through the city’s food scene. Outside of work, she enjoys mentoring students, staying active, and finding time for family.
