Personal Experience
Stephen Mather is an Associate at Rosen & Associates Tax Law. Previously, Stephen articled at another boutique tax law firm in Toronto where he gained a heightened appreciation for the challenges taxpayers go through to ensure fair tax treatment. His work primarily focuses on advocating for individuals and family-owned businesses as they navigate their way through the process of disputing tax assessments.
Stephen has excelled in the study of tax across multiple academic disciplines. As an undergraduate at the University of Manitoba he completed a bachelor’s degree, majoring in economics, where he focused his studies on public sector finances and tax policy. Stephen then study tax during his legal studies, completing his Juris Doctorate in 2018. After being called to the bar in Ontario Stephen went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration (finance stream) where he learned the importance of tax planning for a business manager’s decision-making process.
Outside of working hours, Stephen spends his leisure time perfecting the art of pizza making, keeping tabs on his hometown hockey team (Winnipeg Jets), and catching up on Netflix.
