Personal Experience

Matt is a Senior Associate at Rosen & Associates after having completed both his summer (2020) and articles (2021-2022) at the firm. Matt was called to the bar in Ontario in 2022.

At Rosen & Associates, Matt’s focus is primarily on litigation matters, assists clients with all levels of the tax dispute process; whether that be at the CRA audit level, CRA appeals level, or at the Tax Court of Canada. Matt’s work has ranged from assisting clients with issues such as spousal support, residency determinations, principal residence, Recet dividends, or small business deductions, to the more complex issues involving tax shelters and group audits. Matt has also assisted clients with matters at the Federal Court level involving the CRA’s inherent discretionary powers. Lastly, Matt assists clients with incorporations, amalgamations, shareholder agreements, independent contractor agreements, and other business-related transactions.

Matt received his Law degree from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. While attending Windsor, Matt was the Chair of his school’s Law Games chapter and was the head of the Social Orientation Committee, helping to ease the transition into law school for the incoming first years.

Prior to attending the University of Windsor, Matt majored in Political Science and Legal Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University. Throughout his undergraduate degree, Matt worked for various start-up companies in the Kitchener-Waterloo Tech sector through a consulting club at Laurier. As such he understands the importance of helping clients obtain the results they need, in a timely and cost-effective manner.

When Matt is not at work, you can find him either at the gym, or playing sports of all varieties.
