Joining Rosen & Associates Tax Law
At Rosen & Associates, our student program is an integral part and tenet of our firm culture and identity. Our student program immerses summer and articling students into every aspect of our client files, holistically developing and honing skills of legal drafting, legal strategy, negotiation, client communication, file organization and file management. It is our objective to prepare our summer law students and students at law to feel confident for their legal practice within Rosen & Associates as future associates. Through this approach, our student program(s) have been developed to provide thorough guidance through written, multimedia and lecture-style training modules to supplement the experiential training our students will receive through their high degree of involvement at every stage of their assigned Rosen & Associates Tax Law files.
Integrated Approach to Client Matters
At Rosen & Associates, we seek to immerse students into every aspect of what it means to be a lawyer. Students will work closely with lawyers developing legal strategies, drafting legal arguments, and engaging in client correspondence. Our goal is to develop and hone the existing skillset of each student to ensure that sufficient experience is attained to become thriving associates.
Providing Diverse Mentorship
Our students will be working with all levels of associates:a variety of lawyers at R&A, from junior associate to partner, during summer and/or articling term, guaranteeing exposure to different practice groups, styles and file management strategies. Students will work in groups on larger litigation files and individually under oversight of our legal team to ensure hands-on guidance tailored to specific learning initiatives. Having had successive and overlapping student cohorts since 2017, Rosen & Associates has developed efficient and effective student guidance tools and programs to ensure effortless integration into our existing systems.
Work/Life Balance
At Rosen & Associates, work/life balance is a priority and objective of our firm’s culture. We will engage in firm outings, firm health and fitness initiatives, and regularly meet collectively to highlight the strengths and successes of our team. Fostering these objectives has been foundational to the development of our team mentality, improving our work environment and cohesion.
Social Events
Our students are encouraged to take part in social events while at the firm. Our events focus on our commitment to the community and building lasting relationships amongst the students and lawyers. Past events have included lawyer dinners, Blue Jays games, Raptor Games, Golf Tournaments.
Feedback
We recognize that feedback is essential to your development. Our students receive regular informal feedback from assigning lawyers, principals and mentors. The Director also organizes two (2) reviews during the summer and four (4) reviews during articling.
We also encourage the exchange of regular feedback from our summer law students and articling students to our management team as we view the opinion of our students as highly important to the continued growth and development of our entire firm.
